A story was read aloud to the children titled 'The very busy Spider' by Eric Carle as a provocation and to check their prior knowledge about spider and its home. Children were quick to say that a spider's home is called a 'web'. In continuation to the ongoing learning of the letter sound 's', children were provided with a black A-4 sheet, few round marbles, white paint, a spider cut out and eyes, to create a 'spider web' on their own. They were quite intrigued to see how a web was made by dipping the marbles in the paint and then rolling it over on the sheet in a tray. They completed this activity by pasting a spider on it.
